There is a guy on the green board selling Millennium Hops. I was thinking about getting a pound or two. If anyone else wants in we can save on the shipping. Here is the pricing:

"Price per pound is $22.00. If you want 20 pounds or more, the price drops down to $20 per pound. Shipping is $9.00 for the first pound and an additional $2.00 for each additional pound"

I would probably throw in for a pound. Are these whole hops or pellet?

These are whole hops. I originally asked for 2# before I posted this here. I will see if I can up the order to 7#, that will put the price at $25/lb. If all goes well I will bring them to the next meeting or try to meet up somewhere before then.

disclaimer: Being that I am putting up the cash on these it will be first come first serve. Meaning if you asked for a pound or two, you may only get 1 pound. Or none if I don't see you for a while.

Here is the info from 'the guy'
"Millennium (Nugget/Columbus cross) Hops available. These are high Alpha Acid (14.5-16.5) used for bittering"

“The Millennium hop variety was developed for the purpose of improv¬ing brewing values and agronomic characteristics of existing high-alpha-acids varieties grown in the Pacific Northwest United States. Millennium origi¬nated from a cross made in 1989 on a tetraploid Nugget hop variety and was released to the hop-growing industry as a high-alpha-triploid variety in 2000. When compared with Nugget, Millennium has a higher percentage of alpha-acids in the cone and a higher cone production per acre. Compared with the Columbus/Tomahawk/Zeus varieties, Millennium has better storage stability, a lesser propensity for self heating (combustion), and better powdery mildew and downy mildew disease resistance. Pilot-brew¬ing trials and sensory evaluations demonstrated that Millennium hopped beers were normal in all aspects and the hop aroma was similar with that of Nugget. Commercial breweries have qualified Millennium as an ap¬proved variety in the brewing of a broad range of beers. Millennium is an excellent, cost-effective replacement for the hop variety Nugget and pro¬vides an alternative to the hop varieties collectively known as Columbus/Tomahawk/Zeus. Millennium is grown in the states of Wash¬ington and Oregon.”

I orderred 7#. That is enough for everyone on this thread to get 1# and there will be 1# left over. If I end up with 2# that is fine with me. If someone else wants a pound that is cool, or if someone here wants 2# that is cool too. I will let you know when I get them and we can arrange the exchange. The price is $25/pound.

I got the hops in. If you changed your mind after posting here let me know or if you didn't post and want some let me know. If we can't meet up before, I will bring them to the next meeting.

edit: I'm out of town from Aug 10-17. Guess I won't be at the next meeting. We'll work something out...
